NWT 1UZ Conversion Package (Engine NOT Included)

When it is time to do the 1UZ conversion, we have broken down all the critical parts for your build. We also have additional accessories available, but all the essential items you need to get your swap going are listed here. This conversion package gives you multiple options to suit your build. Please read below for a breakdown of our conversion options.


Motor Mounts

NWT offers a DIY mount for converting from your starting platform (22R/RE, 3VZ, 5VZ, T-100, 3RZ) to the 1UZ platform. These mounts will position the engine in the proper location for your conversion.


Stainless Steam Headers

NWT offers 2wd & 4wd header options specific to 1989 thru 1995 Toyotas. The headers are designed to run with stock-style steering and tuck between the frame AND the anti-sway bar!


Bell Housing

We have several Bell Housing options allowing you to convert from the 1UZ platform to the donor transmission you use from your swap vehicle.


Conversion Flywheel

This is an NWT Exclusive, built for us to provide you with a new high-torque flywheel for your conversion needs; this also comes with new flywheel bolts.


Conversion Clutch Kit

Another NWT Exclusive: We also offer several clutches options for your swap. From our red dual comp to the white heavy duty to our white 6-puck high Torque, we have a clutch to handle your swap and everything you'll throw at it. The clutch kit will also come with new pressure plate bolts for you.


  • NWT Dual Comp Clutch Kit for 1UZ Conversion: NWT recommends this clutch kit for multi-use vehicles (on and off-road) with improved horsepower engines. It’s stiffer than stock but not as stiff as our high-metallic clutch. NWT clutch kits have a pressure plate, clutch disk, pilot bearing, throw-out bearing, and an alignment tool.
  • NWT Heavy Duty Dual Comp Clutch Kit for 1UZ Conversion: This clutch was developed for rigs where a "Normal" Clutch will not do the job. This setup features a heavy-duty pressure plate and a rigid dual-comp disc (hybrid organic fiber on one side and sedimented ceramic on the other). This combination provides excellent holding power and a clutch designed to withstand the torque and abuse from boosted or extreme-duty applications.
  • NWT Extreme Duty Clutch Kit for 1UZ Conversion: This clutch was developed so that a "Normal" Clutch will not do the job. This setup features a Heavy-Duty Pressure plate and a rigid Metallic / Ceramic disc. This aggressive, high-torque competition-grade setup is designed for extreme applications. If you're racing or rock crawling and need the most extreme clutch kit for your rig, this is it.


Power Steering Conversion Kit

You guessed it. Another NWT Exclusive kit includes the Pump, Pulley, and Custom mounting bracket, making installation clean and easy and providing an upgraded pump for your build.


Power Steering Lines

We offer a NON-RW-ABS high-pressure power steering hose and an RW-ABS alternative.


Battery Relocation Tray

Depending on your build, you may want or need to move the battery around. This relocation tray is just what you need. It allows you to move it to the driver's or passenger's side to suit your build needs.


Fuel Supply lines

It's hard to survive without fuel, but we have you covered on that front as well. Our conversion fuel lines will allow you to connect the fuel system safely and securely without fabricating parts, cobbling together multiple fittings, or worrying about fuel system problems for your swap.


Conversion Wire Harness

This is the final must-have for your conversion, and we designed it to be the cleanest, easiest-to-install option available. Our harnesses offer you choices. We offer two options: an adapter harness or an engine harness to cover all your conversion needs. All harnesses are custom, non-refundable after additional information is provided by the customer.

  • Custom ORS Adapter Harness Auto/Man Trans (additional info required) is designed for applications with a used, good-condition, intact engine wire harness from the donor vehicle. Our Conversion Adapter Harness will connect directly to the engine wire harness and the ECU and work with the donor engine wire harness to fully complete the engine wiring circuit. Note: The adapter format of our conversion harness will not work with “JDM” engine wiring (from the Japanese domestic market); our engine wiring format is recommended for JDM donor engines. Once again, the Adapter version requires donor engine wiring that is intact and in good condition from an American donor vehicle.
  • Custom ORS Enginee Harness Auto/Man Trans (additional info required) replaces the engine wire harness while providing the portion of the donor engine circuit originally in the body wiring. This harness combines an engine wire and an adapter harness and houses 100% of the 1UZ engine circuit in one all-new piece. It is intended when the donor engine wiring is missing, cut, or in poor condition. It also works well for JDM import engines since the JDM engine wiring is hard to use in an LHD application.

UZ Radiator

This aluminum radiator is designed to work with the rest of our 1uz swap components for the 89 through 95 trucks and 4runners. This radiator will supply the cooling capacity needed for those long, hot days at the beach or the trail. Our radiators offer duel row tubes that are 1″ in diameter. Our tanks are formed, and TIG is welded together, so these tanks have no epoxy! These radiators are also designed with nutserts, so you can order only the radiator and add the shroud or the a/c system as you need or want them. This will save you time and money. These units are designed, machined, built here in the USA and have a 5-year warranty!


1UZ Thermostat Housing

If your coolant intake port is cracked or broken, or you want a nice upgrade, don’t worry;—this is for you. It is an aluminum replacement for the faulty part. To install it, you must remove the old plastic housing and studs. Once removed, you can install it using our supplied stainless fasteners, and you will have a worry-free, awesome-looking intake port.


UZ Swap Oil Pan

After-market steel rear sump kits are available. There is a DIY option and a welded-together option. Welded kits are drop-in ready.


Transmission Adapter Lexus A340/A341 to Toyota RF1A

This transmission adapter will adapt from the Lexus A340/A341 auto trans to the Toyota RF1A Gear Driven transfer case (Fits Top and Forward Shift designs). This will also benefit you from clocking the transfer case for perfect alignment.


Cross Member Belly Skid Plate 1985-95 Pickup / 4Runner

Transmission cross member and skid plate. Our motor mounts do require either a modification of the transmission cross member, as the tranny is located approximately 1″ back from its stock location, or you can use the factory transmission isolator and a new cross member that accepts the factory isolator. No modification or fuss! Our cross members and skid plates are designed, machined, and made in the USA. You will want This transmission cross-member when using our motor mounts! This cross member is lifted 1″ over a stock Toyota cross member and includes a belly skid plate. Slight skid modification is necessary on IFS rigs that retain the front sway bar.

1" Body Lift Kit

CNC-machined black UHMW body blocks are perfect for this application; the kit comes with all bolts, nuts, washers, and body blocks. You will receive an extra 3/8ths of hardware, depending on the vehicle's year, you will use either the longer or shorter bolts or a combination of both.
